You’ll take it all in with transfers, a trip to the ethereal Blue Lagoon and a stay at a chic, central hotel all included. We’ve also given you two free days to explore Iceland however you prefer. Choose between the likes of whale watching, ice caves, puffin spotting or a Superjeep excursion, while the Golden Circle excites with sputtering geysers and crashing waterfalls.

Day by day itinerary

  • Day 1 » UK/Reykjavik

Flying out to Reykjavik’s Keflavik Airport, an included transfer will bring you on to your central accommodation. With its sophisticated Scandi-chic rooms and trio of 18th-century buildings, it’s the perfect representation of the city’s combination of old and new. And, with the Icelandic capital’s highlights on your doorstep, you too will be quickly comparing its colourful heritage and Viking longhouses with the cutting-edge restaurants and design scene. The beautifully modernist Hallgrímskirkja church is a special highlight.

    Stay: Hotel Reykjavík Centrum, Iceland

  • Day 2 » Day at own choice

After the first of your indulgent breakfasts, you’ll have the day free to explore. And, we highly recommend heading out of the city on the famous Golden Circle. This classic route will see you take in the giant Gullfoss waterfall, the eruptions of the original geyser, and Thingvellir – a national-park rift valley home to the ruins of the world’s first parliament. Our top tip? Head out in the evening to avoid the crowds and enjoy the majesty of the summer’s Midnight Sun. There’s also plenty of different ways to do it, perhaps mixing in horseback rides, glacier hikes or a trip in a Superjeep – a giant, souped-up 4WD. The latter even offers the opportunity to snowmobile on a glacier. Yes, in summer!

    Stay: Hotel Reykjavík Centrum, Iceland

    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 3 » Day at own choice

Today offers the chance to explore Iceland’s natural beauty in more detail. Of course, this being summer, whale spotting is always high on any bucket list, with white-beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises and, yes, those giant humpbacks all to be found in the waters around Reykjavik. You can even combine it with a cruise out to the nearby puffin colony. Otherwise, for some added adventure, take a trip to the mesmerising ice caves or head off the beaten track to compare the waterfalls of Iceland’s dramatic southern coast. As pictured, Seljalandsfoss is a definite favourite.

  • Day 4 » Blue Lagoon & depart for UK

Following your last breakfast, an included transfer will see you to the Blue Lagoon. A highlight of any trip to Iceland, this is the opportunity to unwind at the end of your holiday in the mists of bright-blue, geothermally heated waters. What’s more, your entrance also includes a free drink and a silica mud mask. Then, once fully relaxed, an included transfer will then bring you the short distance on to the airport for your flight home.
