Simply, the walrus is an Arctic icon, and spotting this majestic creature in its natural environment is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. However, although there’s only a smattering of populations spread across the northerly latitudes, the colonies on Svalbard are enjoying something of a resurgence, thanks to diminished hunting. And, you’ll be treated to one of the region’s most impressive populations, cruising out from Longyearbyen to Prins Karls Forland, an island set between Isfjorden and Kongsfjorden. Along with the stars of the show, you’ll also be treated to return accommodation transfers alongside lunch, snacks and hot drinks. What’s more, if the weather’s favourable, you’ll also get up close to one of the area’s many glacier fronts.
