With an idyllic city centre location, only steps from the train station, the Opera House and the Munch Museum, Amerikalinjen is one of Oslo's newest hotels and brings to life the Art Deco scene to the heart of Oslo's beautiful capital. Inspired by New York design and culture, this hotel plays host to clean and contemporary rooms, lively entertainment and stunning cuisine, paying homage to it's rich historic past.

EAT

As Scandinavia continues to lead the way in fine eateries with contemporary cuisine, fresh produce and tantalizing cocktails, it's no surprise that Amerikalinjen has elevated the bar with an excellent selection of restaurants, bars and entertainment on site. From the main restaurant, Atlas, serving up brasserie style grilled cod and slowly cooked duck to the courtyard at Haven, where airy and light tables serve up fresh lunches and dinners paired with creative cocktails. Head to Pier 42, named after New York's iconic pier, for a modern twist on Amerikalinjen's cocktail culture, where a concept menu revolves around perfectly pairing Oslo and New York through food and great drinks. Afterwards, head to the Gustav for a night full of lively jazz entertainment.

SLEEP

Inspired by the Art Deco scene of New York, each of the hotels rooms and suites are elegantly styled with natural wood tones, contrasting artistic pieces and unique touches. With high vaulted ceilings, large airy windows and contemporary tiled bathrooms, you'll find it the perfect retreat after a busy day out exploring the vibrant city. For longer stays upgrade to a suite, where a seperate living area and larger bathrooms with separate bathtubs really elevate the experience. Now, just ring the floating bartender, and have expert cocktails prepared right in your room for something truly special.

DO

Situated on the original site of Amerikalinjen, where the journey to America began for thousands of Norwegian's, you'll begin your own journey into the city from a historic site. With its central location you can easily hop on a train to head outside the city or to your next destination, or head across the road to the iconic Opera House, who's unique style may rival that of of Sydney's famed opera house. From the hotel you can easily explore boutique art galleries, a myriad of stylish cafes and fantastic local eateries, where Norwegian delights are front and centre. Oslo is great for those short city-break visits or as a stepping stone to further explore the fjords in the west or the Arctic region further north. The city is certainly worth a visit and the refreshing and modern style continues to attract millions of visitors each year from around the world.
