Tucked away in a tranquil spot amid the forests of Finnish Lapland, not far from the popular ski resort of Levi, this is no ordinary log cabin. For starters, it comes with its own private yard and reindeer herd, along with an outdoor Jacuzzi from which you can see the Northern Lights swirling through the sky at night. Inside, you’ll find a delightfully cosy living area with a log-burning fireplace, a fully-equipped kitchen, a sauna and two bedrooms – one downstairs, and another in the upstairs loft. Private transfers are included on arrival and departure, as well as to all activities, ensuring a minimum of hassle throughout your stay. You’ll also be equipped with thermal clothing designed to ensure maximum comfort while exploring the Arctic wilderness. Best of all, the entire place is exclusively for your own use.
Eat
All meals are included throughout your stay at The Fell, with a focus on seasonal Arctic ingredients and Lappish culinary traditions. Most meals are catered for in the lodge itself, including delicious three-course dinners, but you will also dine at a local restaurant and in a traditional Lappish hut during your stay. Lunch is also included in certain activities, such as on a snowmobile safari.
Sleep
The cabin caters for up to six people and is therefore well suited either to one family or two couples. One bedroom is downstairs with a king-size bed, while the upstairs loft has one king-size bed and two smaller loft beds, each equipped with warm, down duvets and pillows. Plush bathrobes and slippers are also included, along with complimentary bath and skin care products.
Do
There’s plenty of scope for relaxing at the lodge itself, whether you fancy cosying up by the fireplace, soaking in the outdoor Jacuzzi or unwinding, Finnish-style, in the sauna. But of course, the highlight of any trip to Lapland is venturing out into the enchanting, snow-covered wilderness – and you can choose from a whole host of excursions, including snowmobiling, husky sledding, hunting the Northern Lights and visiting the Snow Village nearby. If you’re visiting with little ones, then the opportunity to visit the hidden home of Santa’s elves is sure to be a hit. There’s also the option of a spa day or a fireside picnic in the spectacular surroundings of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park.
