Survival suits are included, but it’s still a bracing experience. As you return to the relative warmth of dry land, you’ll continue by snowmobile to a Lappish tepee to enjoy refreshments. Today begins with a husky safari through the frozen forests of Finnish Lapland, warm up with a coffee and snacks around a roaring fire as your guide explains the importance of these good-natured working dogs to life in the frozen north. Lunch is enjoyed in the city centre before an Olokolo ice safari, where pods are pulled by snowmobile across the frozen sea. You’ll then head for Kemi's SnowCastle where you’ll spend the night. Following a guided tour of the hotel and a delicious three-course dinner, you’ll test skills on a kick sledge before retiring to a bed carved out of ice and covered in lambskin and a cosy thermal sleeping bag. Or, if you prefer, spend the night in a new Olokolo ‘pod’. With their glass roofs and views to the night sky, you just might get your own private show of the Northern Lights.
