A frequent retreat for children’s author Roald Dahl, Strand Hotel Fevik is ranked as one Norway’s top five hotels, situated amid the Fevik harbour, beach and idyllic archipelago.

Eat

Restaurant Neptune offers seasonal dining with views over the sea; with menus that adapt and change according to the regional and local produce available. Lunch offers a two-course menu; sandwiches and fish soup served early evening, followed by a three-course and a la carte menu for dinner.

Perhaps start with white asparagus, homemade smoked cottage cheese, mousseline sauce and crispy fried ham, followed by deep fried beef fillet, served with celeriac puree, grilled mushrooms, sliced blue potatoes and a red wine sauce for a main course, finished off with white chocolate cake and ganache of caramel, passion fruit, berries and sorbet. Relaxed and intimate meals are served in the Axel Lund and Blasalen rooms, in addition to the historic bar.

Sleep

Accommodation comes in the form of rooms, apartments and suites split between the bright Historic Department and the New England-style New Building. Single and Double Rooms feature comfortable beds and bathrooms, whilst Apartments offer a separate bedroom, small kitchen and separate bathroom. An upgrade to the 'Apartment Overlooking' includes the addition of a kitchenette, the option of an extra bed and views across the beach and Fevik Wedge.

Do

Both the hotel and location alike offer an abundance of activities for Fevik visitors. Guests are invited to make use of hotel facilities including a wellness centre, featuring an outdoor Jacuzzi, gym and sauna, in addition to access to a private sandy beach; surrounded by a beautiful archipelago. Nearby attractions include one of Southern Norway’s best golf courses, bowling and go-cart centre, Kristiansand Zoo, science centre and art hall, with beach volleyball sea fishing, diving, boating and tours in the archipelago offered by Strand Hotel.
