Day 1 » UK/Copenhagen
Flying into the Danish capital, you’ll make your way to your central accommodation. Here, exposed brick is picked out against blonde-wood flooring; it is, after all, a historic warehouse that’s only just undergone a full restoration. As such, it’s the perfect introduction to Copenhagen’s contrasting historic and contemporary charms. And, positioned right on the harbourfront, it’s perfectly positioned to explore them. Perhaps wander along the waterfront to canal-side Nyhavn’s colourful 17th-century heritage or take in the city’s famous design scene, exemplified across studios and art galleries.

Day 2 » Hygge tour
You’ll get your bearings today with an included guided tour, focusing on that favourite Danish concept – hygge. You’ll start your quest for this convivial cosiness among the yellow houses of Nyboder. First built by King Christian IV in the 1600s, today it’s home to welcoming boutiques and cafés, which you’ll sample with a cup of coffee and Danish breakfast pastry. You’ll soon reach the King’s Garden to learn how it became one of the world’s first public parks before pausing at an organic chocolate shop, one of the few that makes its own sweets in house. Then, everything from secret library gardens to government buildings housed in castles will see you on to your final hygge stop in a quiet street café.

Day 3 » Copenhagen
You’ll have today to explore Copenhagen in more detail. As with each morning, you’ll begin with an indulgent breakfast spread at your hotel, featuring everything from ginger shots to Chinese salads and fresh fish. Suitably fuelled, you’ll be able to make use of the one-to-one recommendations from yesterday’s tour. Perhaps you’d like to shop on Strøget street, take in the 18th-century royal residence of Amalienborg Palace or wander Tivoli Gardens, home to the world’s second-oldest amusement park. Be sure to also take some time to sample some of the city’s famous restaurants.
