Direct to Ivalo

British Airways has announced exciting new direct flights from London Gatwick to Ivalo, in Finland's far north, starting early this December. The new direct service will run twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays until mid-February, meaning a chance to tailor either a 3-night trip (Tuesday to Friday) or a 4-night trip (Friday to Tuesday) using these direct flights on both ends of your holiday.

Ivalo itself is a charming village, but more importantly it offers the gateway to the likes of Saariselkä and Lake Inari, as well as a wide range of unique hotels and experiences. Take for instance the romance of a luxury adults-only log cabin escape in Wilderness Hotel Nangu. The direct flights can also be used in conjunction with our popular Santa break in Inari. Our brand-new 4-night Santa itinerary here has this in mind.

Direct to Kittilä

To compliment the already existing direct flights to Rovaniemi, EasyJet have recently announced a new direct route from London Gatwick to Kittilä, north of the Arctic Circle and within the heart of the Lapland region. These new flights are set to run on Tuesdays and Saturdays from late November until early January, including during the popular Christmas and New Year period. This means a chance to tailor either a 3-night trip (Saturday to Tuesday) or a 4-night trip (Tuesday to Saturday) using these direct flights on both ends of your break. By taking these direct flights, you'll eliminate the need for a stopover in Helsinki.
