Day 1 » Vágar
Direct flights are now available from London Gatwick and Edinburgh.
Fly to the island of Vagar, one of the 18 islands in the archipelago of Faroe Islands, and the most westerly of the large islands. Upon arrival, collect your hire car and drive to Bøur, from where you can see the Tindhólmur islet, shaped like a large shark’s fin.

Day 2 » Vestmanna & Tjørnuvík
Travel via the under-sea tunnel to Streymoy, where you can join a boat trip to the Vestmanna bird cliffs, home to half a million puffins. Following this, visit downtown Streymoy and the harbour front, bursting with idyllic warehouses, cafes, modern restaurants and welcoming pubs. Before nightfall, drive over the only bridge to cross the Atlantic Ocean to Eiði on Eysturoy.

Day 3 » Gjógv
See the sights of Eysturoy, enjoying dramatic landscapes, quaint peaceful villages, historical sites and heather covered hillsides.

Day 4 » Klaksvík
Take a trip to Bordoy via the undersea tunnel to Klaksvik. Klaksvik is the second-largest town in the Faroe Islands and provides a perfect jumping base to explore the other northern islands, all home to dramatic, sweeping landscapes and a wealth of activities.

Day 5 » Northern Islands
Head toward the island of Kunoy, accessible via a causeway. Climb one of the eleven mountains and enjoy birding and panoramic views of both the Kunoy and neighbouring island, Kalsoy. From here, head toward the village of Søldarfjørður, where a warming mug of coffee and slice of cake await, in a private house.

Day 6 » Tórshavn
Visit Sandoy, a mild and green island, scoured smooth by various ice ages. Take part in a guided route, visit the village folk museum or relax by the broad sandy beach and only sand dunes in the Faroes. An island characterised by its history, explore the western shore best by bike or foot. On your way to the capital, Tórshavn, we suggest a stop at the villages of Dalur and Husavikand Toftir.

Days 7-8 » Kirkjubøur
On your last full day, take a trip to Kirkjubøur, the southernmost village on Streymoy. Famed for the Faroe Island's most important historical site, spend your day taking in the settlement and visit the ruins of Magnis Cathedral, dating back to 1300 and Saint Olav's Church, from the 12th Century. Overnight again in Tórshavn, then, return to Vágar Airport on day 8 and fly home.
