Although based on a historic log cabin, this brand-new lodge has undergone a complete refurbishment, placing it firmly among the most luxurious accommodation of Lapland. Return from exploring the next-door national park by summer hikes or winter snowmobile trips to Jacuzzi soaks, superb full-board dining and some fireside relaxation.
Eat
Throughout your stay at the lodge, you’ll be treated to full-service dining, from breakfast through to dinner. You can expect a full spread of local ingredients to be presented across indulgent menus, including buffets that span from open sandwiches to perfectly roasted meats and that Scandinavian favourite – salmon. Then, in between meals, there’s always complimentary coffee and afternoon tea. The desserts are a special favourite.
Sleep
L7, as its name suggests, features just seven rooms, ensuring every stay is delightfully intimate. And, each accommodation takes its style notes from the central lounge, where a cosy fire burns in the oversized stone fireplace. So, you can expect the likes of blonde-wood flooring, plush armchairs and great timber logs for the walls and ceiling. The beds are equally cosy, with their rich fabrics and thick blankets. Lastly, every room hosts pretty views out into the surrounding countryside.
Do
Positioned right on the border of the Pallas-Ylläs National Park, you’ll have a full array of adventurous activities on your doorstep, from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to husky and reindeer safaris. So, although you can ski to a nearby village and the L7 is served by a nearby airport, you’ll be right among the Lapland wilderness, tucked away from any light pollution. It’s perfect for the Northern Lights. Then, come summer, you’ll enjoy the likes of hikes, kayaking and biking trails under the Midnight Sun. Back at base, be sure to find some time to relax by the fire or in the large outdoor Jacuzzi. Of course, this wouldn’t be Finland without the sauna.
