Overlooking the snow-dusted islands of the Luleå Archipelago, Brändön Lodge is the ideal base for a family winter adventure. This four-day break includes two such adventures – a wilderness skills course and husky safari across the pack ice of the archipelago, which freezes up to a metre thick during winter. Day 1 » Arrive at Brändön Lodge
Fly from London Heathrow to Luleå (via Stockholm) and transfer to Brändön Lodge for a three-night stay. You'll be provided with warm winter clothing on arrival, before enjoying an afternoon of sauna relaxation followed by the first of your included dinners. Menus are inspired by the region's seasonal produce, and prepared to perfection by the lodge's talented chef. Then, in the evening, keep an eye on the sky for a glimpse of the Northern Lights, conditions permitting, of course.

Day 2 » Wilderness Skills
After breakfast, it’s time to set out on the first of your included excursions. Changing into the warm clothing provided, you’ll strap on a pair of snowshoes and head out into the wilds where your expert guide will show you how to make a fire in the snow and brew coffee and tea in the great outdoors.You’ll also be regaled with stories of life in the frozen north, before taking a welcome break in a traditional tipi where you’ll help prepare and eat a delicious wilderness lunch.

Day 3 » Husky Safari
Today's adventure sees you heading out to a local husky farm to begin a thrilling husky safari through Brändön's snow-dusted surrounds. With the chance to mush your own team, or sit back and enjoy the view, it's an utterly enchanting way to take in forest and lake trails that carve through the Luleå region. Tonight, you'll return for a final delicious dinner and one last chance to see the aurora in the clear night sky.
