Day 2 » King crab safari & Northern Lights
Rise early for a filling breakfast, before setting off for a must-do arctic wilderness experience – king crab fishing. Dressed in a warm thermal suit and accompanied by your knowledgable guide, you'll depart by boat to the Alta fjord before preparing to fish for what some consider a prized delicacy. Learn about local fishing secrets and old stories revolving around the king crab and the history of the area. Return to the lodge in the early afternoon before enjoying a lunch at the Lavvo Restaurant, prepared using your catch of the day, an experience not to be missed.
Spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure before a delicious 3-course dinner back at the Maku Restaurant. Tonight, as the skies darken, meet your guide for a chance to hunt for the mysterious Northern Lights. Ideally located away from light pollution in the high Arctic, Sorrisniva is perfectly positioned to maximise your chance of spotting the elusive light show. Your professional guide will advise you how to take the best photographs before you depart.
