It’s perhaps only possible to get a true appreciation of the sheer scale of Iceland’s geological beauty from the air. And, this flight is a particular favourite, bringing you beyond the Arctic Circle to Grímsey – Iceland’s northern vanguard. Flying out over the Atlantic, there’s a chance to spot mighty whales among the tiny fishing boats and villages below before arriving at this island. Just two square miles in size, it’s the isolated home to a remote community of 80 people, some of whom you’ll meet over a tasting session of the local delicacies. Then, after your guided tour of the village, you’ll head on to its seasonal puffin colony before your flight home, flying in over snow-capped peaks.
