Day 1 » Fly to Finnish Lapland
Your winter adventure in Finnish Lapland begins by flying to Rovaniemi, which lies almost directly on the Arctic Circle. On arrival, a short private transfer (10-15 minutes) will bring you to Apukka Resort, where you’ll be spending the next four nights in a cosy Aurora Cabin with a heated panoramic glass roof – perfect for watching the Northern Lights from the warmth and comfort of your bed. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll collect your thermal outdoor clothing which is included for the duration of your stay. For an extra supplement, it’s also possible to arrange a welcome pack for children which includes a variety of small gifts and sweets.
Later on, head over to Restaurant Aitta for your first delicious dinner, which is served buffet-style in rustic log cabin surroundings (you may wish to upgrade to à la carte). Before going to bed, be sure to check the skies to see if you can catch your first sighting of the Northern Lights.

Day 2 » Snowy activities & husky safari
Enjoy a hearty buffet breakfast this morning as you prepare for an action-packed day ahead. First, you’ll enjoy a mix of snow-based adventures, including the chance to go tobogganing, meet the local reindeer, try snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, and enjoy a short husky sled ride. Children, meanwhile, will love using the mini snowmobiles. It’s a perfect introduction to the winter delights of Finnish Lapland, with plenty more thrills still to come. Lunch is also included as part of the excursion.
Later today, you’ll venture out on a fully-fledged husky safari, with the opportunity to drive your own sled as you glide through snow-cloaked forests – a uniquely exhilarating experience. There will also be plenty of time to pet the huskies and take photos with them before returning to Apukka Resort.

Day 3 » Meeting Santa & ice fishing
Ready yourself for a very special occasion as you head deep into the woods where a herd of reindeer will be waiting to lead you through on an enchanting sleight ride through the Magic Forest to Santa’s Secret Hut. The enthusiastic elves of Apukka will be on-hand with all kinds of festive fun, as well as a plentiful supply of hot drinks and cookies, while you wait for your chance to meet Father Christmas himself. Upon meeting Santa, each child will receive a present.
Fresh from the excitement of spending time with Santa in his Lapland home, you’ll next partake in a traditional Finnish winter pastime: ice fishing. Cosy up on a warm reindeer skin rug as your guide skilfully drills a hole into the frozen lake and you await the potential nibble of an Arctic char or perch. If luck is on your side, your guide will be able to turn your catch into a deliciously fresh snack right on the spot.

Day 4 » Day at leisure
Today is free for you to spend entirely as you wish. You might, for instance, build a snowman, try your hand at kick-sledding, or book another winter excursion such as snowmobiling or a guided snowshoe hike. Alternatively, you could unwind with a traditional Finnish sauna experience, visit SantaPark (an underground Christmas theme park), go skiing at Ounasvaara, or take a trip into the city of Rovaniemi itself, where you’ll find a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, shops, and the excellent Arktikum Science Centre & Museum.
